Find a step, or a curb with a
tree or pole nearby. Use the pole to maintain your
balance throughout the stretch. If something to lean
against is not readily available, you might try
using another walker to lean against. Place your
toes as close to the edge of the step that will
allow you to maintain your balance. |

Keeping
your legs straight, lower your heels as much as
possible. You should feel the stretch in your
calves. To stretch your calves
further, try moving your feet further off the edge
of the curb. Additionally, you can stretch your
calf further by only lowering one leg at a time.
You can place the leg you are not stretching
wherever you want, but be careful to maintain your
balance. |
