| The third calf stretch
requires a wall, sign or lamp post to lean against. Walk up to the
lamp post and remain one arm's length away. Now place your heels
as close to the base of the post as possible. Place your toe on
the post as if you stepped onto it. If you are using a wall or
street sign, you will do almost the same action, except you will
not end up with your foot resting on the wall. Instead, your foot
will be in about the same position as Figure 4a, but there will be
space under it. |
| Keep your leg and back
straight and lean into the lamp post slowly. (Figure 4b) The
closer to the lamp post you are, the more you will stretch.
Although this stretch can be done two legs at a time, it is
usually easier to do one leg and then the other. |
